Free nautical experiences for young people in care and their carers

Nautical Activities onboard Faramir
which will be moored up at Neyland Marina. This session will include hands-on sailing skills (for example, working as a team to hoist sails) and marine biology with the Darwin Centre’s Science Lab using microscopes to examine zooplankton. Family events with activities suitable for ages 6+ but younger siblings are welcome.

Overnight Voyage onboard Faramir -
enjoy the fun and excitement of sailing and living onboard a boat! Learn how to hoist sails, helm the boat and navigate, whilst looking out for local wildlife. Embark and disembark at Hobbs Point. Suitable for ages 11+.

Taster Sail onboard Faramir in the Milford Haven Waterway -
embark and disembark at  Hobbs Point - suitable for ages 11+.

Open Ship onboard Faramir
alongside at Neyland Marina. Take a tour of the vessel and learn about sail training, the Cirdan Sailing Trust, the Darwin Centre and Tall Ships (Wales) Trust.

Who is it for?
The events are open to any young person in the Care of Pembrokeshire Social Services and their carers. To take part in the Voyage and the Taster Sail you must be over the age of 11. Everyone is welcome to the Open Ship - there is no minimum age.
